Graduate of the University of Iowa with a B.A in Computer Science and minor in business. In my academic career, I was a member of the Iowa Men’s Crew team for two years, pursued my private pilot’s license and worked as assistant arbitrage clerk on the Chicago Board of Trade in my summers off.
I began my professional career in New York as an associate programmer for a technology company developing a trade strategy platform. Following this, I joined a brokerage group in Chicago as an operations manager and technology developer. I designed systems to further administrative productivity and portfolio management for customers. From this, I continued on with Janla Capital, LLC. to design and develop a comprehensive technology platform for portfolio analytics and performance risk management of managed futures accounts. Congruently, I functioned as a portfolio advisor and risk manager for customer portfolios.
In my personal life, I am passionate about being active outdoors. I am an avid hockey player and enjoy skiing in the winter, as well as camping, hiking, and boating in the summers. I also developed great skill and passion for woodworking. Over a few years, I created a successful business of producing custom furniture in a niche market of interior designers in Chicago.
